The A2 application is a specialized tool designed for the precise measurement of land areas, perimeters, and distances. Its versatility allows it to be utilized across various geographic locations worldwide. The software facilitates the measurement and visualization of multiple land plots on a single plan, displaying both surface areas and perimeters with intermediate measurements. Users can select units of measurement in feet, inches, yards, or meters.

A notable feature is its ability to overlay the French land registry data directly onto maps, considerably enhancing measurement accuracy—a valuable resource for surveyors and land surveyors alike. The application supports saving, editing, and exporting plans via email in formats compatible with popular geospatial and design software such as KML (for Google Earth, Google Maps, SketchUp) and DXF (AutoCAD). Additionally, it allows importing existing KML files to integrate previous data.

The tool offers three modes of operation:

<li>GPS Mode: Users on-site can capture points in real-time using GPS signals, confirming each position for detailed plot descriptions.</li>
<li>Manual Mode: Users manually select points on the map without physically moving their device.</li>
<li>Mixed Mode: Combines GPS capture with manual adjustments—ideal for challenging access scenarios.</li>
</ul>

Surface calculations are updated dynamically with each point added, displaying results in square meters, square feet, square yards, acres, or hectares. The application provides multiple functionalities for enhanced flexibility:
<ul>
<li>Measurement of multiple surfaces within a single plan.</li>
<li>Cumulative distance measurement.</li>
<li>Visualization of perimeters and intermediate distances.</li>
<li>Display of compass bearings and altitude data for improved geolocation accuracy.</li>
<li>Point data retrieval: The coordinates of each point can be viewed at any time.</li>
<li>Point editing: Existing points can be moved or deleted individually.</li>
<li>Insertion of new points between existing ones to refine plans.</li>
<li>Automatic surface calculation displayed instantly upon point addition.</li>
<li>Plan archiving with customizable names; archived plans can be reopened and modified at any time.</li>
<li>GPS reception indicator providing real-time signal quality feedback via color codes (green: good; orange: moderate; red: poor).</li>
<li>Access to detailed GPS status information through an integrated button.</li>
<li>Exportation of plans in KML format through email integration, with plan files automatically attached for easy sharing; plans can also be imported from KML files.</li>
<li>Archive management tabulates saved areas along with their perimeter measurements alongside date stamps for efficient record-keeping.</li>
<li>Edit history functions include undo and redo options for error correction during measurements.</li>
</ul>

The application’s settings offer several measurement customization options:
<ul>
<li>Selectable units for length: meters, inches, feet, yards.</li>
<li>Surface measurement units: square meters, square feet, square yards, acres, hectares.</li>
<li>Map type selection: Map view, Satellite imagery, Hybrid overlay combining both.</li>
<li>GPS accuracy thresholds configurable at 100m, 10m, or 5m; these settings restrict point capture depending on signal precision.</li>
<li>An option to overlay the French Land Registry on the map for enhanced contextual reference.</li>
</ul>
